I thought that 'miracle' carpet cleaner was a scam until my living room rug happened

Last month I saw a TikTok of a woman scrubbing a 20 year old stain with some pink bottle cleaner I'd never heard of. I figured it was just good editing and a fresh rug. Then my dog threw up on my beige living room rug, and I tried it out of desperation. That stuff lifted a stain I'd scrubbed with three different products already. Has anyone else had a random viral product actually work way better than it should?

Spray it on, let it sit five minutes, then blot don't scrub.

Wait no, you Actually need to let it sit longer than that. Five minutes is barely enough for the cleaner to break down the stain, especially if it's something greasy or set in. I've tried that short soak before and it just spread the mess around. Give it at least ten to fifteen minutes minimum, maybe more if the fabric is thick. Also blotting is fine but you HAVE to use a clean white cloth, not a colored one or paper towel with patterns, or you'll just transfer dye onto your stuff. Start from the OUTSIDE of the stain and work inward so you don't make it bigger.

Got a buddy who tried that pink bottle stuff on his car seats. Kiddo spilled a whole chocolate milkshake back there, let it dry for like two days. He sprayed it on, let it sit maybe seven minutes, blotted from the edges. Stuff came out so clean he said it looked like a new car interior. He still talks about it, swears by it now.
