I screenshotted a weird comment on a local news post about a lost dog and it blew up

It was on Facebook, under a story from our town's news page about a missing golden retriever. Someone commented, 'Maybe he heard about the new dog park and decided to check it out early, lol.' I thought it was funny so I saved it. Posted it here last night and woke up to like 300 upvotes and people sharing their own weird pet-related comment finds. Has anyone else had a totally random screenshot take off like that?

Honestly, I'm always surprised by what gets popular. That comment is just a normal, kinda lame joke you see everywhere. My feed is full of stuff like "hope he's at the dog park" on every lost pet post. The internet deciding that one is special feels totally random. It's like watching a leaf blow into a crowd and everyone starts cheering for it.

Totally get that feeling. It happens with music too, where one okay song blows up while better ones fade away. I see it at work when a simple idea gets all the praise just because the boss liked it first. It's all about that first person to point at the leaf, then the whole crowd just goes along with it. Makes you wonder how we pick what's worth our attention.

The algorithm loves screenshots of other platforms. It's a weird feedback loop. Someone's Facebook joke gets copied to Reddit, then people share it back to Twitter. The original commenter has no idea they're now famous on three sites. Makes you wonder who actually creates content anymore.
