The cloud balloon one @andrew_rodriguez mentioned is a perfect example. I saw a post claiming a new traffic camera was actually a mind control device, and it had scary amounts of support. People get weirdly creative when they're all agreeing on something silly.

My buddy showed me a thread last week where someone said a local weatherman was using secret hand signals to predict the stock market. Honestly, it had like 20,000 upvotes and a ton of people were agreeing in the replies. They were breaking down his tie patterns and everything. Tbh it was wild how detailed their "proof" was. The whole thing felt like a weird inside joke that way too many people were in on.
