Hot take: Those viral 'life hack' cleaning videos on TikTok actually worked for one thing

I swear I rolled my eyes so hard when my sister sent me that video about cleaning a burnt pot with baking soda and vinegar. I figured it was just another internet gimmick like that whole dented tennis ball in the dryer thing. But after I torched a batch of chili in my stainless steel pot last Tuesday, I figured I had nothing to lose. I dumped in a cup of baking soda and a splash of vinegar, let it sit for 20 minutes, and the crust practically floated off. It took less scrubbing than any store-bought cleaner I've used in 10 years. I still won't trust those fabric folding hacks though, that stuff is pure chaos. Has anyone else had a surprise win from a viral video like that?

ended up trying that burnt pot trick last week after I set a pan of beans on fire (story of my life honestly) and yeah it actually worked. i felt pretty dumb for doubting it but i also felt dumber staring at a crusty pot i almost threw away.

Honestly that burnt pot trick actually worked for me too, but then I tried the one where you microwave a sponge to clean it and I almost set my kitchen on fire. Ngl I think the internet owes us better disclaimers on which hacks are real.

My cat watched me microwave that sponge and hasn't looked at me the same since.
