Hot take: that viral comment about "gaslighting" in every recipe post is getting old
I was scrolling through a banana bread recipe last week and saw a comment claiming the baker was gaslighting readers by saying 3 ripe bananas instead of 4. Come on, people. I've been in enough dentist office waiting rooms to know real manipulation when I see it, and it's not about a missing banana. The wildest part was 200 people agreeing with the commenter, and the actual baker had to respond saying she just had small bananas. Now every cooking video I watch has someone yelling "gaslight gatekeep girlboss" in the comments over any tiny detail. Has anyone else noticed this trend of armchair psychology taking over food posts?

and the whole "gaslight" thing has gotten completely out of hand honestly. Ngl I saw someone in a pancake recipe comment section accusing the poster of "love bombing" because they said "these are the fluffiest pancakes you'll ever make" like come on man, that's just called being confident about your cooking. Tbh the worst part is how these armchair experts get so many upvotes that the actual cook has to come defend themselves over something totally normal. I've started just scrolling past any comment that uses serious psychological terms in food posts because it's never actually about manipulation, it's always like one missing egg or an extra tablespoon of vanilla.

Jesus, 200 people? That's insane. @evan_wilson18 you're right, people just want to feel important by throwing big words around over a pancake recipe.
