Can we talk about the "funny" comments that are just straight up mean?

Last week in a viral cooking video, the top comment was someone mocking the cook's weight, not the recipe. Everyone in the replies called it comedy gold, but I saw it as trash. I called it out respectfully and got buried, like 12 downvotes in an hour. Has anyone else noticed the bar for "funny" has dropped to just cruelty?
