Went to the local con in Springfield and the main artist alley was just t-shirt booths

I was hoping to find some cool indie books or original art, but it was just wall-to-wall generic superhero merch. Felt more like a pop-up mall than a celebration of the medium. Anyone else's local scene getting overrun like this?

Yeah, feels like everything's getting gentrified. Even the weird little hobby spaces turn into the same five shops selling the same stuff.

Maybe it's just the shops you notice. My neighborhood still has a few oddball spots hanging on.
