Tried reading the new Ultimate Spider-Man run and actually got bored

Everyone keeps raving about Hickman's reboot but I forced myself through 12 issues and just couldn't get into it. The pacing felt super slow with all the family drama and nothing big happening for like 8 issues straight. Am I missing something or did anyone else hit a wall with that series?

Did you try skipping ahead to issue 9 or 10? That's where the plot actually kicks in with the Kingpin stuff. I had the same problem with the family scenes (they drag hard, I get it) but once you get past the setup, the payoff is solid. Maybe just jump to the Maker's reappearance and see if that hooks you.

Oh, so you're living in the slow-burn setup issues too? I feel like my life's been stuck on issue 4 for about three years now. Hopefully your plot twist involves more than just a surprise credit card bill.
