The great comic book shelf war with my little brother
My brother and I shared a room and one bookshelf for our comics, which caused constant fights. He wanted to mix all the superheroes together (like, Batman next to Spider-Man), but I insisted on keeping companies separate. It got so bad that my mom made us draw lots for shelf space every month. Looking back, those silly arguments actually made us both super aware of comic history and genres. Now I wonder if other fans had to deal with sibling rivalry over collection stuff. What's your wildest family story about comic fan habits?

Watched my dad try to arrange my comics by color once. He thought it would look nicer on the shelf, but it messed up all my story lines. I spent a whole weekend putting them back in order by company and issue number. He still doesn't get why his rainbow system was such a big deal.

Admit I kind of see your dad's point about the colors, @xena394.

Honestly, mixing comics like your brother wanted can make the shelf way more interesting. It breaks up the boring same-ness and lets you spot fun team-ups across publishers you'd never notice kept apart. Even @xena394's dad's color system, while a pain for reading order, at least made the whole wall pop visually.
