That time I scoffed at 'digital comics' but now I'm hooked after a snowstorm
I used to roll my eyes at folks reading comics on tablets. Seemed like cheating somehow, you know? Then a blizzard hit Buffalo last February and I couldn't get to my shop for two weeks. Out of desperation I downloaded a few issues on my phone and ended up reading four story arcs in one weekend. Now I'm split: do you prefer the feel of paper or the convenience of digital? What side are you on?

Did you find yourself actually REMEMBERING the story better reading on the phone versus paper, or did it just feel like a different kind of reading?

Double down on the phone reading thing - I actually remember more details from my phone because the smaller screen forces my eyes to focus tighter on each sentence instead of wandering around the page. It's like the lack of physical space makes my brain work harder to hold onto the story, you know?

Totally agree with you on that. There's something about reading on a phone that forces your brain to really lock in on each word instead of skimming, like you're saying. I get the same thing when I'm reading news articles on my phone at a truck stop. That little screen makes me focus like a laser on every sentence instead of just scanning the page. It's weird how that extra little bit of effort makes the story actually stick in your head longer.
