Remember when comic shops had those longboxes full of quarter books you could dig through for hours?

I was at my local shop last Saturday and realized they don't even keep back issues on the floor anymore, everything is bagged and priced online now, and I keep wondering where the joy of finding a random Spectre issue from the 80s went.

That's just how everything is going now, man. You can't even find a random mix of old stuff at thrift stores anymore because they all check prices online and put the good stuff behind glass cases. It's like we traded the thrill of the hunt for just typing something into a search bar.

Are you kidding me @samjohnson? I actually think it's better now. Yeah you can't just grab a vintage guitar for five bucks anymore, but I remember all the wasted gas driving to five different spots hoping to find something decent. Now I can look up exactly what a certain old Craftsman tool is worth before I drive across town for it. The "thrill of the hunt" was mostly just disappointment and junk nobody wanted anyway, at least for me.
