Question about keeping up with monthly floppies vs waiting for trades

I used to hit the comic shop every Wednesday like clockwork back in 2015, and I had a pull list at a place on Main Street with about 22 titles on it. Now I wait 6 or 8 months and grab the trade paperbacks instead, mostly because bagging and boarding 22 books every month started feeling like a part time job. The thing that broke me was trying to keep up with a big crossover event where I missed issue 3 and had no idea what was happening in issue 4. I still love the feel of a single issue in my hands, but paying $5 a book versus $20 for 6 issues in one volume is hard to argue with. My long boxes are full of stuff I never reread, while the trades sit on a shelf I actually pull from. Does anyone here still buy singles every week, or did most of you switch over too?
