Poked my head into a vintage comic shop in Portland last week
I was visiting Portland for a weekend and stumbled into this little shop called Comic Club on Belmont Street. What caught my attention was that they had a whole section of fans' hand-drawn alternate covers pinned up on the wall. Not professional stuff, just regular people's sketches of superheroes they loved, like a Spider-Man where he's eating a slice of pizza. Made me wonder if more shops do this kind of community wall thing, or if it's just a Portland oddity. Has anyone else seen something like that at their local shop?

Doubt most shops would bother. They usually want to sell you something, not give wall space to random fan art.

Yeah that's a fair point, kind of a bummer honestly.

Ngl you're probably right. I asked a local comic shop if I could hang a watercolor I did of Spider-Man eating a hot dog and the guy just stared at me like I asked to set up a lemonade stand in his bathroom. Honestly I get it, wall space is precious and nobody wants to explain why there's a weird drawing of Goku next to the new X-Men issues. Tbh my art belongs on my fridge at best, not a retail wall.
