My 3 pulls at the Wednesday shop run went perfect and my buddy says that ruins the hunt
Stopped by my shop in Salem on Wednesday and pulled a near mint Secret Wars #8, a Giant Size X-Men #1 with a small crease, and a full run of Claremont X-Men from a dollar bin all in under 20 minutes. My buddy Marcus says that kills the fun and real collectors want the slow chase where you dig for years to find one grail, but I say a hot streak is exactly why you keep showing up week after week. So which is it, is a lucky stack like that the best part of the hobby or does it cheapen the whole thing?
Wait, your buddy is actually mad that you found good books? That sounds like a him problem. A near mint Secret Wars #8 for cheap is not a crime, it is the whole point of walking into a shop. The hunt is fun, sure, but nobody turns down a grail because they wanted to suffer longer. If Marcus wants to dig for years, cool, he can do that. You got three wins in 20 minutes, go read them and enjoy it.
