I bought a full run of a comic series before reading a single issue

Saw a YouTube video hyping up 'The Last Ronin' and dropped $300 on all the variant covers plus the hardcover. Read the whole thing in one night and honestly, it was just okay, not worth that cash. Felt like a huge waste since I could have borrowed it from the library or bought one trade paperback. Anyone else get burned by hype and regret a big comic purchase?

Last year I wasted like two hundred on a writing class that was just recycled blog posts. Now I check the syllabus and look for sample lessons before I pay for anything online. If they won't show you a real example of the content, it's probably not worth it. Saved myself from a few other bad buys that way.
