Found out Stan Lee's first comic work was a filler page in 1941
I was reading an old issue of Captain America Comics #3 and saw a two-page text filler about the evils of tobacco, and the byline was Stan Lee. Blew my mind that the guy who created Spider-Man started out writing stuff like that for $8 a page. Any other fan historians know his least known early gig?

Yeah I get what you're saying blakem37 but there is something kind of cool about seeing how everyone starts somewhere. It's like how the best mechanic you know probably started out changing oil and rotating tires for cheap. Nobody just pops out of the womb knowing everything.

Wait, is this really about how deep a filler page is, or are we just trying to sound like comic book hipsters now? So Stan Lee wrote about not smoking for pocket change, big whoop. I bet half the fans here can't even name five characters he created without Googling it. The real laugh is that a two-page rant about tobacco somehow paid for his lunch that week. Guess that's what happens when you write for a guy named Timely Comics, huh?
