DAE think the $100+ for a CGC graded book is a total rip or actually worth it?
I dropped like $120 on a graded copy of a key issue, and idk, maybe it's just me but it feels like paying for a plastic case. Has anyone else felt burned or did it actually save you from buying a raw copy in worse shape?

Totally get it! I did the same thing with a slabbed book last year and still feel silly about it. It's just sitting there in the fancy plastic, and I could have bought a nice raw copy for half the price.

You paid a hundred and twenty bucks for a plastic case, my dude.

Hold up, that's not really how it works though. You're not just paying for the plastic. You're paying for the grade, the expert opinion that says the book is in a specific condition. That grade is what changes the value. The case just protects it. So the money is for the verified condition, not the slab itself.
