Watched a buddy switch from a blade grinder to a burr grinder and his morning coffee went from decent to actually good in about a week

He was using that $20 Cuisinart blade thing for years and finally grabbed a Baratza Encore after I bugged him enough. The difference in consistency was wild, first cup he made had no bitter chunks or powdery fines. Has anyone else seen a friend make that switch and notice the same jump in quality?

Guilty as charged, I was that friend for years with a blade grinder thinking it was fine until I tried my first actual burr cup and felt like an idiot.

Oh man @thompson.nathan you're not alone in that "felt like an idiot" moment. I did the exact same thing with a cheap Cuisinart blade grinder for years thinking it was fine, then a friend brought over fresh beans ground on their Encore and I couldn't believe the difference. The first brew I made after switching had zero of that bitter sludge at the bottom, just clean coffee flavor. It's honestly embarrassing how long I fought upgrading when it's the single best thing you can do for your morning cup.
