Vent: Hit 200 pounds of beans roasted in my garage and it hit me weird
I hit my 200 pound mark last weekend on my little Behmor roaster. Thought I'd feel proud but mostly I just realized how much smoke I've been pumping into my garage without proper ventilation. Measured the buildup on the walls and it's way grosser than I thought, like a thin layer of sticky tar. Anyone else realize they been roasting way longer than their setup can handle?

Bet your neighbors think you're running a BBQ joint without the meat. That tar on the walls is basically what your lungs look like after a few months of this. I'd be more worried about the fire risk than the smell at this point. Garage roasters catching fire is way more common than people talk about on the forums.

The fire risk thing is no joke, I've seen a buddy's setup go up in smoke from a single spark hitting dust buildup. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather deal with angry neighbors than an insurance claim for a burnt down garage.

Yeah I've got that same tar buildup in my garage and honestly at this point I'm just hoping my lungs are tough enough to filter out the smoke like some kind of gross Dyson vacuum. Guess I'll find out when the fire department shows up to my "BBQ joint" without the meat.
