Took me 3 years to realize I was grinding way too fine for my French press
Been using a French press since 2021. Every cup was kinda muddy and bitter but I thought that was just how it was supposed to taste. Last week my buddy brought over his press and made me a cup at his place - totally different. He asked what grind I used and I said 'whatever setting 1 on my grinder is' and he just laughed. He uses setting 6 or 7. Made my coffee today with coarse grind and it's like a whole new drink. Anyone else have that moment where you realized you've been making it wrong for years?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. I did the exact same thing for like two years with my Aeropress until someone showed me the light.
