TIL my pour over was ruined by my tap water the whole time

Heard a barista in Seattle mention that mineral content changes extraction way more than grind size, so I grabbed a $15 TDS meter just to check. My tap water was reading 340 ppm, dropped to 120 with a cheap filter, and the same beans taste totally different now. Anyone else ever test their water and get surprised?

Grab a cheap filter jug first, you'll taste the difference before spending more.
