Rant: My French press carafe just gave up and cracked in half while I was pouring my morning coffee

I mean, I was just pouring a cup at 6 AM and it split cleanly, leaving a puddle of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe all over my kitchen counter, so has anyone else had a carafe just fail like that?
