Question about cold brew concentrate ratios

Always thought cold brew had to be a 1:4 ratio. Read a post from a chemist who runs a coffee lab in Portland. He said 1:8 tastes cleaner and extracts more flavor compounds. Tried it yesterday with my usual beans. Way smoother, less bitter. Anyone else mess around with their ratios?
