My uncle's espresso advice nearly burned my kitchen down
He told me to use a gas stove to preheat my moka pot base because it's faster than electric, so I tried it last Saturday morning. The handle melted off after 20 seconds and coffee sprayed everywhere like a geyser. Anyone else get stuck with advice from a relative that almost ruined their morning?

My friend's uncle told him "just figure it out" when he asked about changing his car's oil filter. He ended up stripping the bolt and had to call a tow truck to get it fixed at the shop. Did your relative ever give advice that backfired like that?
