My French press hack for gritty coffee, solved with a $3 strainer

Been fighting sludge at the bottom of my press for months, tried grinding coarser and even a metal filter, nothing fixed it. Finally grabbed a fine mesh tea strainer at a shop in Portland for 3 bucks and pour through that after pressing. It catches the fines without blocking the brew, and my cup is clean now. Anyone else do a double strain or have a better cheap trick for this?
