I finally looked up the caffeine content in my go-to espresso blend
Been pulling shots of this local roaster's Dark Horse blend for about 6 months. Never thought to check the actual numbers until last week when my buddy asked why I was jittery after two doubles. Looked it up on their site and each shot has 95mg of caffeine. That's basically 2 cups of drip coffee in one tiny cup. No wonder I was bouncing off the walls. Anyone else ever get surprised by the stats on their regular beans?

Whoa, 100mg a shot is wild!

Nah, 100mg is pretty standard for a single shot honestly.

Well I'll be, I always thought espresso had way more caffeine than regular coffee. I used to grab a triple shot thinking it was just a little boost, but then I started getting that wired feeling where you can't sit still. Turns out my go-to roast has about 100mg per shot too, so three of those is basically a whole pot of drip coffee. Changed my whole morning routine once I did the math - now I stick to a single and save the doubles for when I really need to clean a house fast.
