Cold brew took me 9 tries to realize I was grinding too fine
I kept getting this bitter, cloudy cold brew no matter what water ratio I tried. After 9 batches over 3 weeks I finally looked up the grind size and realized I was basically making espresso grounds sit in water for 18 hours. Switched to a coarse grind from my local shop in Portland and it turned clear and smooth overnight. Anyone else spend way too long on one dumb variable before checking the obvious fix?

Ha, that's brutal but I've heard the same thing from a buddy who runs a coffee cart here. He said most people mess up cold brew by treating it like a normal brew, when really you just need big chunks and patience.

Exactly @alexc93, coarse grounds and a long wait, that's the whole secret. Messed up my first batch the same way.
