Watch out for that 'free' tool offset probe update from the software rep

After I installed the new firmware they demoed at the shop last Tuesday, my probe started reading 0.012 off on every part until I caught it wasting a $60 aluminum block, so has anyone else had their Z-axis go weird after a vendor pushes an 'urgent' patch?

Mike from Dayton had his spindle crash two days after that same update. Cost him a whole fixture plate.
