Vent: From skeptic to fan of thread milling

I used to skip thread milling, thinking it was overkill. Then a job with deep, small threads kept failing with taps. After switching to thread milling, the parts came out clean and on spec. Anyone else find themselves warming up to techniques they once avoided?

My old boss wasted weeks refusing to try a new insert grade.

Oh man, that classic "if it ain't broke" logic. Bet he was still using the same trusty old tool that needed sharpening every ten minutes and wondering where all the time went. That kind of stubbornness doesn't just cost time, it burns money and patience in equal measure. Sounds like my old foreman who'd rather fight a part for an hour than spend five minutes listening to a new idea. Some people just put way too much stock in being "proven wrong" instead of just getting the job done better.

My stubbornness cost me like three taps last year.
