The probe touched the stock before the offset loaded, ruined a $300 part
Running a Haas VF-2 in Toledo last Tuesday, I loaded a fresh billet and hit cycle start without checking which offset was active in the control. The probe touched down 0.4 inches early and plowed through the top face, scrapped the whole setup before the first cut even started. Took me 3 hours to re-torch, re-jig, and change my startup checklist so the offset page gets verified every single time now. Anyone else have a routine crash that made you add one dumb safety step to your workflow?
