Showerthought: Our shop's coolant filter system is more dramatic than a soap opera

The other day, it started making this LOUD groaning noise during a long run. I opened it up and found a bundle of swarf tangled like spaghetti in the filter basket. My lead thought I was exaggerating until HE heard it. Now we have a weekly 'filter check' ritual that feels like a scene from a movie.

Read about this happening with lawn mowers all the time. Like, my cousin found a mouse nest in his engine block last winter. Heard a mechanic say squirrels love to chew on wiring harnesses too. Tbh, it's crazy how animals can cause such loud noises in cars. Honestly, your friend's story doesn't surprise me at all.
