Shop floor in Tulsa showed me I was measuring wrong
Watched a guy there check a burned insert with a $5 loupe and catch a chip I missed with a micrometer. Took me 10 minutes to trust his call, but it saved a 30-piece run. Anyone else still skip the eyeball check?

Saved a 30-piece run" is the part that sticks with me. You can measure all day, but your eyes catch the stuff numbers miss, especially on something like a burned insert where the edge tells the real story. I read a piece last month about how most shop errors come from trusting one method over another, and that loupe trick is just a cheap way to double-check your work without slowing down.
