Scrap aluminum and an hour on the CNC gave my old shop vac a new lease on life.
The custom mount lets me swap attachments in seconds.

That aluminum mount might flex if you ever hang a heavier hose on it.

Already tested that theory, and yeah, it folded like a cheap chair.

Aluminum mounts can be really strong if you machine them right. From what I've seen, a good design handles weight just fine. It's worth trying out before assuming it'll fail.
