Ran the same part 40 times before catching I had my X axis zeroed wrong
Was making brackets all morning and kept wondering why the holes were .015 off until I double checked my edge finder reading. Has anyone else had that sinking feeling when you realize you've been referencing from the wrong edge?

Buddy of mine scrapped a whole shift's worth of parts doing that exact thing.

My cousin did the same with a batch of cupcakes.

Setting up a CHECKLIST before running the first part really helped me stop these kinds of mistakes. I write down the zero point for each axis and what edge I used, then I DOUBLECHECK it against my setup sheet. It feels stupid to write something so basic down, but that "sinking feeling" you mentioned is WAY worse than looking a little slow on the floor. Also, I started using a piece of tape on the machine table to mark which corner I'm referencing from. Saves me at least once a week now.
