Mastercam vs Fusion on a 60 part run, one cut my cycle time in half
Had a job last month in Tacoma, 60 aluminum brackets, same tolerances. Ran the first 15 with Fusion 360 because that's what the shop uses for quick stuff. Getting the toolpaths dialed in was a joke, kept getting weird ramps and zig zag passes that left chatter marks. Switched to Mastercam's dynamic motion for the next 45 and it was night and day. Cycle time dropped from 4 min 20 sec down to 2 min 10 sec per part, and the surface finish was actually clean off the machine. I know people hate the price tag on Mastercam but for production runs it just flat out works better. Anyone else see that big a gap between the two, or was I just setting up Fusion wrong?
