I was looking at some old G-code from a job we ran back in 2015.
It's all manual coordinates, but now our CAM software just posts it out. Has anyone else kept old programs as a reminder of how much simpler the machines have gotten?

Yeah, I keep a few of those old printouts in a drawer. It's a good reality check for the new guys who complain about CAM. I mean, try hand-coding a full 3D contour sometime, it was a nightmare. Makes you appreciate the software, even when it posts something weird.

Heard about a guy whose post did a full circle just to change tools.

Man, that's a solid point. What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen a CAM post do that you still had to just roll with? I'm talking about a move so strange you wouldn't dream of doing it by hand, but the software made it work somehow. Those old printouts must have some real horror stories behind them.
