Had a parts buyer tell me my feeds and speeds were 'old school' last week

I've been running CNC for about 12 years now. This guy maybe has 3 years under his belt. He saw my program and said I was wasting time running conservative numbers. Said he watched a YouTube video where a guy pushed 3x faster through aluminum. I told him I'd rather change inserts every 2 days than every 2 hours. He didn't get it. Then yesterday a spindle bearing on his machine started making noise. Coincidence? Has anyone else had young guys try to tell you your tried and true methods are outdated?

Well, feeds and speeds are a starting point not a rule, but swapping bearings every couple hours definitely isn't the shortcut he thinks it is.

@daniel_walker maybe, but not when you're running production parts all day...
