Crashed a roughing pass into the vise jaw at 2am on an overtime run
I fat fingered the Z offset by a full inch and buried a 3/4 end mill right into the jaw, which was my own fault for not checking it after a reset. Took me about $90 in scrap and a new jaw to learn I should write my offsets down on a sticky note instead of trusting my head at that hour, anyone else got a reset ritual that saves them?
Was the inch-off a typo or did you read the wrong number off the print? Curious if you were running the same part you'd done all day or something new to you. Sticky note trick works but what happens when you've got three offsets to track on one setup?
