Coolant pH drift ruined 14 hours of runs last month
I kept chasing random surface finish issues on stainless parts, swapped inserts, adjusted feeds, nothing stuck. Then I finally tested the coolant with a cheap pH strip and it was way low, like 7.8. The bacteria load was killing the lubricity and I didn't catch it for a whole week. Now I check the sump every Monday morning before anything else. Anybody else run into hidden coolant chemistry issues that showed up as tool wear first?

Did you check if the bacteria was coming from your water source?
