Checked out the old factory tour in Dayton and saw a 1980s CNC mill still running parts.
They had it set up for a demo run, and the operator told me they keep it going with custom-made replacement parts from a local machine shop. It got me thinking about how long some of these older machines can last with the right care. What's the oldest piece of equipment you guys still run regularly at your shop?

Check your math, @annas87, because that thing is definitely NOT older than you.

Older than you? How old is that thing, anyway?

Actually read an article about how they built those things to last. The materials and workmanship back then were just different. Makes sense some are still around.
