Can we talk about cheap collet chucks from that online auction site?
Honestly, I wasted $180 on a set that couldn't hold a tenth after two weeks, just threw them in the scrap bin. Anyone got a solid brand for a 40-taper machine that won't ruin a good finish?

My 5C set from that site has held up for three years now. You have to check the runout with a tenths indicator before you even mount it. Sometimes you just get a bad batch.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. Been there with cheap tooling, makes you want to pull your hair out. What a waste.

Oh, it's everywhere now! You buy something to save money and it just falls apart, so you end up buying it twice. Feels like a tax on being careful with your budget.
