Tossed $45 at a "premium" Twitter growth service last month

They just spammed hashtags and got my account flagged for bot behavior. Has anyone else gotten burned by one of these influencer hacks and had to start over on a new profile?

Honestly I fell for the same thing last year, paid some "guru" $60 and all they did was follow a bunch of random people and unfollow them a week later. Got my account temp banned twice before I just gave up and made a new profile with zero followers. Ngl those growth services are just bots running scripts, they don't actually care about your account getting flagged.

So how much did they get from you before you figured it out? I'm asking because I want to see if my bad "investment" is a competition winner here. I dropped $80 on some dude who promised me "organic influencer growth" and all he did was follow 90 people a day for a week then unfollowed them all while I wasn't looking. My account got flagged for spam and I had to verify my phone number three times before Instagram just gave up on me too. Honestly the only thing that grew was my blood pressure and my embarrassment for falling for something that was obviously just a guy in his basement running a script. At least we both learned the lesson without losing more than a dinner out, I guess.

Oh yeah the blood pressure thing is real, I had a buddy who paid $50 for "viral tweet packages" and the guy just retweeted his posts from a bunch of empty accounts with egg avatars for two days. His engagement went from zero to slightly less than zero and Twitter shadowbanned him so hard he still can't find his own posts in search a year later.
