The time a photographer tried to CREDIT HIMSELF for viral edits of MY photos

I used to post edits of celeb photos on Instagram for fun, you know, just messing with colors and lighting. Back around 2019 I did a whole set on some red carpet pics and this photographer guy started reposting them saying he 'created the series.' I messaged him and he basically told me to get over it because i didn't have the following he did. Ended up having to report him to the platform and it took like 4 weeks to get him to stop. Anyone else had someone try to steal credit for their work like that?

Threw my phone across the room reading this because I felt that frustration in my bones. The audacity of that guy pulling the "I have more followers" card is insane, like congrats on your follower count, want a cookie for being a digital landlord? Honestly if someone tried to claim my edits I'd probably just watermark the crap out of everything from then on, make it look like a stock photo site threw up on it. The four week reporting wait sounds like a nightmare though, props to you for sticking with it.

You ever have a friend who just gives up on the whole situation? My buddy had this happen with a photo he took, some influencer just stole it and claimed it was theirs. He did the watermark thing too, plastered his name all over it like a bumper sticker on a rusty truck, but it didn't stop the guy from cropping it out. @felix_lane99 you're right about the wait being a nightmare, that four weeks of silence felt like watching paint dry.
