The influencer who faked her own kidnapping for clout

I used to just roll my eyes at those drama alerts, but then I saw the whole thing with Carissa Capalongo in 2024. She pretended to be kidnapped and her family spent $90,000 on private investigators. Now I actually look up the court records before I form an opinion on these cancel stories. Has anyone else started fact checking these wild influencer scandals?

@briancarter it was the Capalongo case that did it for me too. Saw the court records and realized most of what folks were sharing online was dead wrong.

and the craziest part is people still blindly believe these stories until the court docs drop. like I remember when that whole thing went down and everyone on social media was ready to send prayers and hashtags before anyone even checked if it was real. what made you actually start looking up the records though? was it one specific case that opened your eyes or just a slow buildup of all the fake drama?
