Spent 2 hours trying to scrub my old deleted tweets from the Wayback Machine

I tried to get a brand deal last week and the company pulled up screenshots of stuff I said 6 years ago from some archive site. Everyone says deleting tweets is enough but apparently nothing ever really goes away online. Has anyone actually managed to get archives of their old posts taken down?

Man it's wild how we're all just leaving digital fingerprints everywhere without realizing it. Feels like the whole "delete" button is just a suggestion at this point, not a real fix. Makes you wonder what else is floating around out there from years ago that we think is gone but isn't.

Used to think I was just being paranoid caring about old posts, but this is exactly why I changed my mind. Two hours down the drain and you still can't really scrub it all, can you?

Right? It's like the internet version of "once it's out there it's out there." Makes you realize how many little things we just assume disappear, but they don't. Even stuff like old job applications or comments on a friend's post from ages ago, they're probably still cached somewhere. Deleting a post feels like sweeping dust under a rug, you just can't see it but it's still there. It's a weird feeling knowing something you wrote when you were 16 might still exist on some random server.
