Shoutout to that influencer who deleted everything after that weird apology

I had to choose between defending my favorite YouTuber or just walking away from the whole drama. Picked the second option after seeing their 12 paragraph apology that blamed everyone but themselves. Now I just laugh at the screenshots of their old tweets that got dug up from 2015. Anyone else find it liberating to just stop caring about these people?

I read somewhere that 90% of these apologies are just PR damage control.

RIGHT? Once you realize they're just reading a script written by some PR intern it all feels so fake. I remember this one beauty guru who cried about "taking accountability" then went right back to posting sponsored detox tea the next week. The 2015 tweet digging is hilarious though, like oh you said the f-slur when you were 19? Groundbreaking stuff. Honestly stepping away was the best thing I did. Now I just watch the screenshots roll in like a free circus show.

@lane.cameron the circus comparison is spot on, but nobody mentions how these scripted apologies actually train worse behavior behind the scenes.
