Remember when canceling meant someone actually faced real consequences?

I'm talking pre-2018 era where an influencer would say something wild and their sponsors actually dropped them within 48 hours. It felt like there was some accountability back then, not this loop of apology video -> two week break -> comeback tour we see now. Anyone else notice the timeline getting shorter?

Yeah I used to roll my eyes at cancel culture but honestly you're making a lot of sense.

Remember when Laura Lee lost all her sponsors in one day, that's the old way I actually miss.

Started off thinking you were overreacting but honestly you're right on the money. The cycle used to take months now it's like a week and everyone forgets. It's all just performance now, nobody actually loses anything real. Feels like people figured out the formula and now we're stuck with fake apologies forever.
