Just realized I was blocking my own views by not optimizing video descriptions for search

I spent 6 months getting 200 views max on my Denver vlogs until a buddy pointed out I was just writing 'cool park' instead of actual searchable terms, and after fixing them my next video hit 3k in a week has anyone else had a hidden settings tweak that blew up their numbers?

Yeah I had the exact same thing happen with my hiking videos, I was just putting "nice trail" and once I switched to things like "best Colorado mountain hike for beginners" the views actually started coming in. It's crazy how small tweaks like that can totally change who finds your stuff. I still don't fully get the algorithm but matching search terms definitely helped me break past that plateau.

Stop overthinking this. @david37 already nailed it with the search terms thing. You gotta treat video titles and descriptions like a map for people looking for something specific. Just writing "cool park" is worthless because nobody types that. Think about what someone in Denver actually searches for when they want to see a park. Put yourself in their shoes and write that down. The algorithm is stupid simple sometimes - it matches words to people's searches. Fix the words, fix the views.
