Dropped $60 on that canceled influencer's merch before she disappeared
I bought a hoodie from that travel influencer who got called out for faking her whole solo hiking thing. Paid $60 plus shipping, which was a lot for me, and she went completely dark three days later. The website is gone, her Instagram got deleted, and I never even got a tracking number. I tried to do a chargeback through my bank but they said it was past 30 days. The whole thing feels like I just threw cash into a hole and got nothing back. Has anyone else bought merch from a canceled creator and just never received it?

And that's just the way things are going now with online shopping in general. It's like these people pop up overnight, get a following, sell you something, then vanish before you even realize what happened. I've seen it with small artists on Etsy too, not just influencers. They take orders for weeks, then one day the shop is gone and your money's gone with them. The banks don't care because it's been too long, and the platforms don't have any real system to stop it from happening again. It's just another way the internet lets people take advantage of others and face no consequences for it.

Wait @jana119 is right, that Etsy thing happened to my cousin last year and she never got her money back... straight up wild how these shops can just disappear like that.
