Compared my old gym's cancellation policy to my new one and it was night and day
My previous gym made me mail a certified letter to cancel, but my new one let me do it online in 2 minutes flat, has anyone else dealt with that kind of runaround?

Certified letter for a gym cancellation sounds like a break-up from the 1800s.

Wait is this a state thing or just that one gyms policy? I swear most places let you cancel online now, certified mail feels like they're trying to make it hard on purpose.

Man, that certified letter thing is some next level nonsense. I bet it's not even about state laws, it's about them banking on you giving up. Like they figure if you gotta drive to the post office, fill out that green card, pay for certified mail, and wait for a signature, you'll just eat the monthly fee instead of dealing with it. My buddy had a gym that wanted him to show up in person during their 9-5 weekday hours to cancel, which is basically impossible if you work a normal job. It's a shakedown dressed up as a policy, plain and simple.
